Morning Sickness

When morning sickness gets bad

For most pregnant women, morning sickness is uncomfortable but mild. Even throwing up a 2 or 3 times in a day can be a normal, unfortunate, and temporary condition.

One to 3% of women of women will experience severe nausea and vomiting that requires monitoring. This is called hyperemesis gravidarum. No matter when morning sickness starts, check with your your practitioner if you

  • haven’t been able to keep any food or drink down for 24 hours.
  • have weight loss.
  • have concentrated, dark-colored urine.

Morning sickness is not fun. I’m sure not too many (if any) women enjoy or appreciate it, but it is a common condition in the first trimester. Hopefully by you be feeling better by your second trimester. In fact, 90% of pregnant women who have morning sickness feel better by the 16th week. Just concentrate on eating and drinking healthy will help you’ll get through.
